Laura Mercier Foundation Primer-Radiance Swatches, Photos, & Review

Laura Mercier is well known for her primers and for many they are holy grail. In the last year or so she came out with the Radiance primer. This primer is meant to be the canvas for your foundation giving you a smooth and silky surface while adding a sheer healthy glow.

You get 1.7 oz for $32. This primer will last you forever. I think mine usually lasts about 6 months. I like the packaging that this comes in because it allows you to only dispense a small amount of product. The only issue is that I can't always get out all of the product as it gets toward the end. I will usually cut the packaging and then transfer what is left into a small plastic jar.

The primer received 4 stars out of 174 reviews on Sephora which is pretty good. Most people thought it was lightweight, evens out skintone, and is fast-absorbing. I would have to agree with all three of these things. I do think that this really helps to make my makeup stay on longer. In conjunction with this though I also use the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray which I think helps as well. I think a primer and setting spray are two must have's to make your makeup last longer.

In terms of the glow that this gives my skin I would say it's subtle and it does my make skin look a bit more radiant and dewy. The formula contains light diffusing properties to give you that lit from within glow. If you don't like a dewy look you can always set it with a powder. I do find that the glow appears more when not used with a foundation or tinted moisturizer so if you really want to glow you may want to try using this by itself on days you decide not to wear foundation.

I don't see any shimmer, sparkle, or glitter in this product and this doesn't make my skin oily but could make it oily if I used too much. If your skin is super oily this might not be the product for you. You might want a primer that helps to make your skin more matte. The consistency feels almost like a very light moisturizer which I enjoy. I don't like the primers that are overly heavy on the silicone.

Slightly blended on hand

The color of this primer has a slight tint to it but is very sheer so it works on almost all skintones. It is a pearl beige with peach undertones. I am pretty fair and usually wear the second lightest shade in most foundations and this works fine on me. It doesn't make me look orange nor does it really give me much color. Just a slight "glow". I think that's it exceptionally great for those fair skin people like me as it helps to really brighten my face which is a plus especially for winter.

Overall this will give you a beautiful glow while helping to keep your makeup on all day. I recommend trying out this product as Laura Mercier really knows what she is doing when it comes to primers. Have you tried any of the Laura Mercier primers? What are some of your favorite primers?

    1. Thanks for commenting. I prefer usually non silicone ones so that's why I like LM. I've tried Smashbox but don't love them that much.
