What's In My Sephora Skincare iQ Bag

I mentioned in one of my recent blog posts that Sephora was having a Skincare iQ event this weekend and was giving out free giftbags with no purchase necessary. I wanted to let you all know what I got in my bag and a little bit about the event in case maybe you still want to try and go tomorrow. Unfortunately the machine was not working so we couldn't use that but they did speak with me about my skin and made some recommendations for me. I didn't end up purchasing anything since I already have a ton of skincare to go through but I am excited about the bag.

What's In My Sephora Skincare iQ Bag

So first off the bag is amazing that the products came in. It's a rubber texture on the outside and something that I would use for sure. A lot of times they give you crappy makeup bags but this is a good one. I received the following products:

-Hope in a Jar moisturizer in 1 oz. This isn't my favorite moisturizer but I'm glad to always have extra night moisturizers.

-Kate Somerville Exfolikate in .16 fl oz. I have a few other samples of this but am really excited to try it out. I've heard so many good things about this.

-Dr. Jart+ BB Cream SF 45/PA+++ in .33 fl oz. I like BB creams and this will be great for travel. I'm excited to have a sample of this.

-Algenist Firming & Lifting Cream in .5 fl oz. I have so many Algenist samples. They seem to give samples out all of the time which is nice because their products are pricier. I like their products so I am happy to have this.

-Murad Line Tamer in .1 fl oz. I'm not sure if this product is for me.Most of my wrinkles are below my eyes and I doubt this can be used near the eyes.

-Sephora Age Defy Moisture Cream SPF 15 in .169 fl oz. This is an ok day moisturizer. Nothing special but I will use it. I'm personally not that into Sephora skincare in general.

-Shiseido Purifying Cleansing Foam 1.8 oz. This is a great sized cleanser and I am super excited to try this product out. I run lowest on cleanser samples usually so I'm really glad that I got this.

So that's it for my bag. I'm so glad that I went to the event and think that this is one of the better bags that Sephora has given out. I highly recommend going tomorrow to try and get a bag if you can. If any of you went I would love to hear what you thought of the event.

  2. What a nice assortment of free goodies! I'd be especially excited about the Exfolikate and the Dr. Jart BB Cream. Would love to see some reviews of these if they're worth chatting about! :)

    1. Yeah I haven't tried it yet so I don't know about the smell but I don't love Philosophy skincare in general so we will see. Thanks for commenting!

  4. Please do not take this the wrong way. I understand that you were happy it was free and unfortunately the machine was not working at your location and you have plenty of skin care. I work for Sephora (as a second job) and the intention was to promote skin care IQ, introduce skin care products to new clients (and maybe some current ones) sell products and provide a mini facial. Unfortunately we were inundated with clients who just wanted the free bag and a few were quite rude/impatient about it. we even found extra staff to accommodate walk ins. Hopefully your readers took the time to rate their experience at Sephora in consideration of receiving a bag of samples. Please consider the people as well as the free goodies.

    1. Thanks for commenting and I really appreciate your feedback. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I always seem to be about 2 weeks behind on comments and I am trying to work on this. I didn't go just for the free stuff but I just wasn't happy for a few reasons: 1) I made an appointment and still had to wait like 20 minutes 2) the machine didn't work 3) the lady that helped me wasn't very nice and I don't really even think she worked for sephora (I think she worked maybe for Ole Henricksen). I wasn't rude and waited patiently but just think that they could have been better prepared. I have gone other times and have had a great experience. I just felt like they wanted me to buy stuff and I buy stuff all of the time (way more than normal people) and I felt like they were annoyed because I didn't want to buy something that day. I didn't think that was right. Just my thoughts but again really appreciate your opinion as well. Always nice to hear another perspective. I hope that you enjoy my blog otherwise.

  5. That sucks. your blog is cool. the problem with Sephora is it depends on client surveys and they are to detail good experiences. most clients do not care to take the time. I felt bullied by this woman's husband to get the bag without even doing the skin iq. so many ppl came in saying they just wanted the bag. . the times square location always has a working skin iq. Glad you appreciate my perspective. yes and you don't have to buy anything.
