Burberry Eyeshadow Collection +Swatches

Since Burberry eyeshadows have been so popular over the past year or so I thought I would do a post on my collection with some swatches. I have 5 shadows. 2 I purchased myself and the other 3 were given to me by a sales rep at Nordstrom's. It was so random that she even gave them to me but I was extremely grateful. Those 3 are displays so they don't come in the packaging but I still can enjoy them. I know a lot of people who don't have these shadows wonder if they are really worth the hype or not. I hope that this posts help you decide whether or not you need.  Burberry shadow in your collection or help you decide to maybe add more. They have four new colors in their Autumn/Winter collection in Gold Trench, Dark Sable, Mulberry, and Porcelain White. The five shades that I have are Rosewood, Pale Barley, Antique Rose, Midnight Brown, and Midnight Plum.

The first thing that I want to speak about before I get onto the swatches is the packaging. It is so luxe and fancy. You definitely get what you pay for in terms of packaging. It has a magnetic closure which I really like and a nice sized mirror which I'll probably never use. The packaging is pretty heavy so for travel thats not a plus but if you like to have something that feels expensive the weight makes it feel that way. You get the Burberry logo on top which is a nice touch and it comes in one of those bags like Chanel, Dior, and other high end brands. I just put that in a draw but its a nice touch.

You get 2.5 grams of product and the cost is $29. So you are paying $11.60 per gram of shadow. For comparison a MAC eyeshadow costs $15 for 1.5 grams which means you are paying $10 per gram. So yes Burberry is a little more expensive per gram but not much more. Personally I would prefer less shadow for for less money because when you a zillion shadows you are never really going to finish one up. I would love it if Burberry made shadows that were have the amount of product and therefore half the price but I doubt that would ever happen.

So that's it for my Burberry eyeshadow collection. I was going to include dupes in this post but I think I'll do another post on that. To be quite honest I really didn't find any great dupes so I really think that these colors are pretty unique but there are some slightly similar colors from some other brands. All in all I really love these colors and am so glad that I have them in my collection. They are super soft, go on so smooth, and are not powdery at all. They are probably one of the best eyeshadow formulations that are currently on the market from all of the ones that I have tried and I've tried a lot. If you don't live by a Nordstrom you can order them online. Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns. I recommend trying out these shadows. If you have any of these colors, I'd love to know what you think of them. Do you recommend any other colors?

  2. These look gorgeous! I've been wanting to pick up some Burberry shadows for a while now (I'm swayed by the hype too!) but have balked at the high price. Your swatches show how nice the texture is and how unique the shades are, which gives me extra motivation to give them a try. Midnight Plum and Pale Barley look especially nice :)

Thanks for the kind words on my blog earlier- just started following you!
