This or That? Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Pads vs. St. Ives Scrub Free Exfoliating Pads

This is going to kick off a new series that I am going to call "This or That". I know that there are a lot of drugstore alternatives to high end products. I want to showcase those options for you. Some of you may still prefer the high end and if you can afford it sometimes the high end is worth the money. For those of you who can't afford the high end products though, I plan on showing you some great alternatives that you can find at the drugstore. This post is going to focus on skincare and I will be comparing the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel pads (high-end) vs. the St. Ives Scrub-Free Exfoliating Pads (drugstore).

Worth the Hype? Clarins Cleansing Milk, Review & Photos

I've decided to start a new series on cult products and talk about if they are worth the hype or not. I know I always hear talk on certain products on YouTube, Beauty Blogs, Sephora, etc. of people raving about products but I'm not always sure what if they are "Worth the Hype." My first post in this series will be on the Clarins Cleansing Milk with Alpine Herbs for Normal or Dry Skin. They also have one for Combination to Oily skin but I thought this one was better suited for me. I picked this up at the Nordstorm Anniversary sale for Fall/Winter. I have normal/combination skin that gets dehydrated when the weather gets colder. I thought that this would be a good cleanser to help hydrate my skin.

Project Use It Up- Samples/Minis Edition

I've decided today to go through all of my samples/minis and organize them. After doing that I realized that I just have a ton of samples that I need to use it. My goal is to use up as many of these samples before the end of 2012. I wish update you at the end of the year with how I did. Of course the samples pile is always growing since I am always getting freebies with orders, at events, beauty boxes, etc. I will also be including products that I use up in my empties post each month. My makeup samples are not as bad as my skincare ones. Certain areas of skincare I could not have to buy anything new for a very long time, like moisturizer. So these are my samples that I'm trying to use up in 2012:

Weekend Beauty Haul

So this weekend I did a little bit of shopping. I tend to do most of my beauty shopping on the weekends since during the week I'm always at work. I shopped at Target, the Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale, Harmon Beauty, Lush, Bath & Body Works. I also went to the dentist and got some goodies (well if you are into dental hygiene then yes they are goodies) as well as some skincare gifts from my family who were recently in Colorado. I hope that you all enjoy taking a little look into what I picked up this weekend. I can't wait to dig into all of it.

Fresh Food Truck Beauty Event Recap

On July 25th I attended a beauty event in NYC hosted by Fresh. I found out about the event through twitter. They were setting up a food truck outside of their store and were giving out free Fresh tote bags with a travel sized soy face cleanser as well as a free mini fresh sugar lip treatment. Blueprint was also giving out juice as well which was really nice. This was a quick fun event that I enjoyed attending. Thanks Fresh for offering this! You visit can the Fresh website here to learn more about their products.

Beauty Gadget Review: Every Drop Beauty Spatula

I'm the kind of girl who likes to get every last drop out of my beauty products, especially if I paid a lot of money for them. While I have been known to cut some of my containers in half to get the product out I don't like using my finger to transfer the product into a new container. That's where the Every Drop beauty spatula comes in. It's like a spatula for beauty and not food. How fun!

Caudalie Beauty Elixir vs. Caudalie Grape Water

I've decided to do a post comparing the cult favorite Caudalie Beauty Elixir to the new Caudalie Grape Water. I'm thinking that once Caudalie saw how quickly popular the Beauty Elixer had become they knew that they had to create another more affordable product for those who wanted a Caudalie fix.

5 Beauty Product's I'm Dying to Get My Hands On

I'm going to start a series on "wishlist" blog posts to share which products/items I've been wanting to purchase most recently. The wishlist is of course always growing but this will periodically give you a sense of some things that I really want to buy/try out.

1. Make Up For Ever HD Kabuki Brush-$40

Sephora describes this brush "soft-to-the-touch" yet sufficiently firm nylon brush designed to sweep powder on the face. This is a Sephora exclusive brush that was designed for the HD Microfinish Powder. I don't own any Kabuki brushes and thought that this would be a great place to start. I think everyone really needs to have a Kabuki brush in their collection. I thought that this might be good for blending in bronzer, blush, etc so that I don't have harsh lines on my face when I do my makeup. I also really like that this comes with a bag for travel and storage. Over 300 people on Sephora have rated this brush at 5 stars.
