Favorite YouTubers of July

This month I am going to spotlight 3 special YouTubers who I have really been enjoying watch their videos. So in no particular order here they are for the month of July.

I love these two girls. They are so down to earth and seem to really love beauty products so much which comes through in their videos. They are great friends and that shows in the videos which makes them even more enjoyable to watch. They do videos on travel bags, rediscovered products, empties, battle videos and so much more. Laura Geller & Birchbox Event Recap

I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend an event being held by Birchbox at Laura's Gellers makeup studio on the Upper East Side on July 23rd. The second I was in the door I was greeted by Laura herself. While I knew that she was going to be there I had no expectations of being able to talk to her. She was just as friendly and nice as she comes across on QVC. I couldn't believe how down to earth and genuine she was and not just with me but with everyone their that night. Just the fact that she was so nice made me even a bigger fan of the brand.

Nail of the Day-Essie Lollipop

Today's NOTD is one of my most favorite summer polishes.  This is a classic red with a tinge of orange in it. I love to wear red nail polishes but this one is especially suited for summer and not a color I would wear in the fall and winter. It's really a classic color and a cult favorite by many.

July Empties

This is my first empties post. Some of my favorite YouTube videos to watch are empties. I've noticed a lot more people talking about this recently and it makes so much sense. I think if you finish a full sized product it really shows that you must really like the product and also it gives the opportunity for people to talk about each product and whether or not they would repurchase the product. I get a ton of samples which I do try to use so a lot of my empties will be skincare samples. I think that this should count though since sometimes these samples take quite a while to get through. I'm going to break up my empties into categories and will discuss what I thought out each product and whether or not I'll repurchase it. I hope you all enjoy!

Top 10 Favorite Summer Lip Glosses

This blog post will be on my top 10 favorite summer lip glosses. Typically in the summer I enjoy bright pinks, peachy colors, pale pinks, and corals. Most of my favorite lip glosses are drugstore as I haven't really gotten into yet high end lip glosses. If you all have any suggestions I would love to hear though.

My Mac Eyeshadow Palettes: Purples

This is going to be my first post on my MAC palettes. I have a neutral palette, a purple palette, and a brown palette. If I'm not wearing neutrals I am probably wearing purples. I think purples look great with brown eyes. The MAC palettes can hold 15 eyeshadow pans. The pans sell for $11.50 each and the 15 palette sells for $16. The packaging is very slim but yet still sturdy. I don't mind traveling with these palettes since they are so slim. MAC also sells 4 pan palettes which I have some of those as well. You can only purchase the pans from freestanding stores or online.

I've decided to do a post comparing the cult favorite Caudalie Beauty Elixir to the new Caudalie Grape Water. I'm thinking that once Caudalie saw how quickly popular the Beauty Elixer had become they knew that they had to create another more affordable product for those who wanted a Caudalie fix.

5 Beauty Product's I'm Dying to Get My Hands On

I'm going to start a series on "wishlist" blog posts to share which products/items I've been wanting to purchase most recently. The wishlist is of course always growing but this will periodically give you a sense of some things that I really want to buy/try out. 


1. Make Up For Ever HD Kabuki Brush-$40 


Sephora describes this brush "soft-to-the-touch" yet sufficiently firm nylon brush designed to sweep powder on the face. This is a Sephora exclusive brush that was designed for the HD Microfinish Powder. I don't own any Kabuki brushes and thought that this would be a great place to start. I think everyone really needs to have a Kabuki brush in their collection. I thought that this might be good for blending in bronzer, blush, etc so that I don't have harsh lines on my face when I do my makeup. I also really like that this comes with a bag for travel and storage. Over 300 people on Sephora have rated this brush at 5 stars. 

Illamasqua Naked Rose Blush Review

After watching people on YouTube and reading some blogs I had to add Naked Rose to my Sephora Wishlist. I would go into Sephora from time to time and none of the stores that I would go into would have this blush. Then today, Friday the 13th I somehow got lucky. I was near the 86th and Lexington store and decided to go in and look around. Can't not go into a Sephora when one is nearby. To my luck the first thing I saw when I walked in was Illamasqua, and their was the Naked Strangers Collection on display. I saw Naked Rose, swatched it and knew I had to have it. Up until purchasing this blush I only owned one other Illamasqua blush in Katie. Katie is one of my all time favorite blushes so I knew I had to have more of them eventually. I had just been waiting for the right color. This is the right color! I do think that my iPhone is making the blush appear darker than it is and not as pink as it really is but hopefully you can get the idea. 

What's in My July Birchbox

When I got home from work today I was suprised to see that my July Birchbox was waiting for me. The tracking said it would probably be delivered on Friday but I'm starting to notice that I can't go by the tracking. This month Birchbox partnered with Glamour magazine and the theme is celebrating the five senses of summer.

Current Favorite YouTubers

I am going to be starting a series where I shout out 3 YouTubers that I really love to watch their videos. YouTube was really my gateway into blogging so I am forever grateful to all of the wonderful ladies and men who make videos on their. I know that it is truly a lot of work but you all do an amazing job. My favorites currently are in no particular order.

Melmphs

One of my new favorite people on YouTube is Melissa. Her YouTube beauty channel name is Melmphs.Check out her YouTube channel here. She is a makeup artist with a great southern accent and such an upbeat and positive attitude. She is truly a joy to watch. We recently connected a lot through Instagram and she has truly been so supportive of me in my blogger beginnings. Check out one of her most recent videos below:

Inglot Eyeshadow Palette

In this post I will be sharing with you all my inglot eyeshadow palette. I apologize in advance for the poor camera quality. These pictures were taken on my iphone as the quality is better somehow than my  actual camera. I'm looking into investing in a camera and if you have any suggestions let me know.

Living in NYC I am fortunate to be close to several Inglot stores in Manhattan as well as in NJ closeby. I also attended IMATS in NYC this year and was planning on purchasing additional colors but that didnt work out due to the craziness of IMATS. I am overall very pleased with my palette and enjoy the shadows.

Something important to know is that Inglot sells these magentic sticks that you can buy for like $5 at their stores (maybe online too, I'm not sure). After I bought the stick I went to Michaels and purchased  small mini magnets to attach to it. Then I use that to remove my shadows from the palette if necessary. It is so crucial to have if you plan on needing to switch around or take out your shadows.

What I Like About the Palette/Shadows:
-Colors are very soft
-Amazing color payoff
-Wide variety of colors (mattes, shimmers, glitters, etc)
-Fairly inexpensive

What I Don't Like:
-Palettes are bulky
-Colors are identified by numbers and not names
-Colors are not very easy to remove form palette
-Website is very confusing if you want to place an online order

Overall though I would say that the pro's outweigh the cons and I highly recommend Inglot eyeshadows.

Blog Sale
