Very recently Maybelline launched a new product in their Color Sensational line. The Maybelline High Shine Glosses are available in 12 shades and have a very wide color range. I purchased the one in Raspberry Reflections to try out. I couldn't be happier with my choice and I'm excited to tell you why in this post.

While I find its really easy to find great lipsticks at the drugstore, I don't find it as easy to find amazing lip glosses. Let me start off by saying that this lip gloss is truly amazing. I really feel that it ranks right up there with Chanel glosses (maybe even better)! I know that's a bold statement to make but I'm sticking with it.

The packaging is very high end looking. My favorite thing about the gloss is that Maybelline isn't written all over it. In fact it's actually very hard to find at all. The packaging is similar to that of a Burberry lip gloss. It is a very thick square glossy top and then you can see the color of the gloss in the clear plastic. Most lip glosses are round or curved. I really like that they made these square instead.

The formula is pretty thick but not sticky on the lips. It reminds me a lot of the Chanel Rouge Allure lip glosses. I think that the thickness helps the gloss to stay in place which I can appreciate. The color looks super glossy and shiny on my lips and makes my lips look fuller and plumper. They don't dry out my lips at all and last quite a while. I also think they leave a slight stain on my lips which I love so that the color is still somewhat there even after it wears off a bit. The color looks very purple in the tube which at first scared me but on my lips its wears as an amazing raspberry fuchsia color. I'm seriously obsessed with the color.

Chanel Rouge Allure Lip Gloss formula vs. Maybelline High Shine Formula |
The applicator is an angled doe foot similar to that of the Chanel Rouge Allure but larger and more bent. It is very easy to apply the gloss to my lips with this applicator. There is definitely a scent but I can't put my finger on exactly what it is. I guess it's a little fruity. I kind of enjoy it but if you don't like any scent to your gloss this may not be for you. My drugstore was selling these in NYC for a little over $10. I'm sure you could find it for between $5-$1 0 USD near you.
Overall I am in love with this lip gloss. I have been wearing it so much since I got it. It really brightens up my face and makes my lips look and feel amazing. I think these are the new drugstore product to look out for. If you find them snatch them up because they are a true winner in my book. Maybelline continues to make amazing drugstore products. They are slowly growing as one of my favorite drugstore brands. Have you tried this out? I would love to hear your thoughts.

They are very pretty and great glosses. Better than many high end ones.
DeleteGorgeous colour! Now I'm tempted to them. Does it come with a good colour selection?

Yes I think it does. They have nice fall and summer ones and then neutrals and pinks. Thanks for commenting!
