Tarte Holiday 2012 Fantastic Foursome Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Enthusiast Set Swatches, Photos, & Review

Before the Sephora VIB sale ends tonight I wanted to share with you the Tarte blush set that I picked up recently. If you can still get your hands on it, it's a great deal. If you are trying to decided between this and the LipSurgence set I would get this. I love Tarte's blushes and didn't find any dupes for any of these colors in all of the 30 plus blushes that I have.

This set comes with four blushes in fantastic, angelic, magic and stellar. The colors are exclusive to this set and limited edition. Each blush in the set contains .1 oz of blush. In a full size blush you get .2 oz for $25. So for $35 (retail value $60) this is a fantastic deal and who ever finishes a blush anyways? I wish all companies made their blushes this size. These blushes claim to lash 12 hours. I don't think that they last that long but they do last a good amount of time. I usually don't have to touch up until late in the afternoon. The pigmentation on these blushes are amazing and they are not powdery at all. The color of these blushes is very buildable and I don't have to worry to use a light hand.

Fantastic is a cool toned matte fuschia color. I am fair skinned and really like wearing cool toned pink blushes. This just gives my cheeks a nice glow. It's definitely more of a Barbie pink color but I find it highly wearable and really pretty.

Angelic is a gold highlighter with slight shimmer but I didn't see any glitter. I'm not sure if I love this highlighter yet but I do like it so far. It's a good highlighter to travel with and it's not too crazy on the skin. It's a good everyday highlighter. This would also look pretty over a matte blush to add some sheen.

Magic is a coral with pink undertones. This is more of a summer color for me because it does lean pretty coral. It is super pretty though and not like any of the other Tarte coral colors that I have.

Stellar is warm brown with slight peach undertones. This could be worn as a bronzer on fair skin, a contour, or as a blush. There is some slight shimmer in it but I don't really see it show up on the skin.

The packaging of these blushes is great because the size is small which is nice to keep in your bag or to travel with. I love how Tarte makes the packaging color the color of the blush. This makes it so much easier to find the blush. I wish all companies did this. Nars blushes are so hard to find if you have a lot. These don't come with a mirror like the full sized ones but I don't care about that. I never use the mirrors on my blushes anyways.

Swatches Left to Right: Stellar, Angelic, Fantastic and Magic

Here is the color stellar next to exposed. At first to many I think many would think that they were dupes but they are not at all. Exposed is more of a rosey nude while stellar has much more brown in it. I think for some this could be used as a bronzer or to contour for fair skin.

This is just to show you a full sized Tarte blush compared to the smaller ones in this set. They are not that much smaller but hopefully you can see the difference here.

So overall this is an amazing set. You can purchase this set at Sephora and Tarte. I hope that Tarte does another one next year. I think next year I would skip the LipSurgence set and pick this one up for sure. Read my review on the LipSurgence set here. Did you pick this up? Do you love the blushes?

  3. Wish we had Tarte in Australia, I'd love to get this set. I just bought Exposed from ebay, but can't have it until Christmas as it is for my stocking. Your swatch has me excited to wear it!

  4. This is on my wishlist for Christmas! I have been wanting to try these blushes since I first heard about them! I think this set is perfect because there's no way I'd be able to use up a full size blush! I rarely hit pan on blushes haha ♥
