August Favorites

I have purchased a few new products this month which have quickly become my favorites but also I have been doing a little bit of shopping my stash too to find some new loves in my collection. I think I'll be doing a shop my stash post soon since I have a ton of makeup that I need to give more love to. So here are my August favorite.

Bath & Body Works Paradise Coconut Foaming Handsoap
This is the best soap ever and it smells amazing. I'm so sad to put this away for September but excited for the Fall scents. If you like coconut you will love this soap. It makes you feel that you are at a tropical beach. I only buy the foaming ones as I think they are the best. I never pay full price for anything at this store and try to buy most of my stuff at their semi-annual sales. I'm pretty much a Bath & Body Works addict.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 01
This is the best combination lip gloss/chapstick ever. It has a vanilla scent which I love and is just a really pretty pink color. This really does an amazing job of moisturizing my lips. I think I may pick this up in 02 as well. I believe that is more peach. I just love this so much. Highly recommend it.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light/Medium
I picked this up when I was thinking of doing a review of BB creams. Out of all of the drugstore ones that I picked up this one is my favorite. I think I'm going to try to bring the rest back. This is very sheer so if you don't have good skin you will not like this but I love this for the weekend when I don't want to wear a lot of makeup but just want to even out my skintone. This is just a great product and I love that it is only 1 oz in a small bottle. Great for travel.

Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner in Brown
I picked this up recently in my quest to get away from pencils and I love this. I don't have any high end gel liners to compare this too but this product works amazing for me. It's a pretty pigmented brown (maybe could be a bit darker) and lasts all day for me. It also comes with a brush that works pretty good with this. I just love it and am loving Maybelline stuff.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in 100 Barely Beige
I just picked this up this week so I haven't had a while to try this out but I'm already loving this and had to put this in my August favorites since they are limited edition and will probably sell out fast. I got mine at Rite Aid so check out there. This is supposed to be similar to MAC Bare Study which I don't have. This is super creamy and has a beautiful pink/beige shimmer color to it. I like to wear this alone or under other eyeshaodws to give them some more sheen. This is just a great color to brighten up your eyes. This just continues my love affair with Maybelline.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush
I picked up this brush this month at Harmon's and was so excited to find them there since I don't have any Ulta's here in NYC. This brush is my favorite of all of the ones I picked up. I use this everyday for cream blush and absolutely love it. It just blends in cream blush really well. It also is super soft which I love.

Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer
I picked up a mini one of this at Sephora. I had this for a while but didn't pick it up until recently. I have fallen in love with this. I think it really makes my makeup look better and think that it may work better than my Laura Mercier one. My only complaints are that I wish they would make this without SPF for nighttime in case I'm taking pictures and also the price but other than that I love it.

Show Off Beautyaddicts Mascara in Jet Black
I think I got this in one of my beauty boxes. I believe it was Glossybox but I'm not 100% sure. I was going to sell this on my blog sale and then heard someone who really liked it so I decided to give this a try. I love this for going out at night. I do not like it for during the day since it can get clumpy. The brush is a curved brush and when I wear this my eyelashes curl so much and lengthen too so much that they touch my upper lid when I use this. This stuff is amazing. I just wish it didn't clump so much. I will play around with it some more to see if maybe I wipe it off before using it if that helps. If you use this and have any tips let me know because I do love it.

Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Ground Espresso with the Tightline Activator
I picked this up after I went to Saks recently for their Look Good Feel Better Event. You paid $30 to get your makeup done and got to meet with a beauty editor of your choice. I chose Lucky Magazine to meet with Jean Godfrey June who is the Beauty and Fashion editor. She was super nice and was able to answer any questions that I had. The girl that did my makeup was great too. She also introduced me to tightlining which I had never tried out before. I love how it made my eyes looks brighter. I picked up these products and am so happy with them. I'm still working on my technique but overall I'm happy with this new step in my makeup routine. This color is Limited Edition but I believe they are a basic brown and black too.

Sleek Storm Palette
Finally is my eyeshadow palette from Sleek. My best friend picked this up for me when she went to London this year. I am the crazy makeup lover who asked her if she wouldn't mind picking me up some stuff and she was nice enough to do so. This sat in my collection for quite a while up until this month. I decided to reach for it and play around with it and I love it. It'a an amazing neutral palette with great color payoff. It's great for travel since its so small and I'm just happy to have it. It is a mix of shimmer and matte colors so you can just use this alone and not need any other shadows really. I believe Sleek ships to the U.S. as well.

So that's it for my August favorites. I hope that you all enjoyed it and got some inspiration for some new products to maybe try out. Sorry that I was MIA on Friday and Saturday. I had a friend's wedding this weekend that kept me pretty busy. Everything was beautiful and I'm so happy for her and her new hubby. What were some of your favorites for August?

  5. What do.you think of using the Real Techniques brush for applying foundation? I'm looking for a brush to.use to apply foundation for that airbrushed look. I've heard a few brushes mentioned in the past for this, but for some reason I just cannot remember.

    1. Sorry it took me so long to reply. I'm like 12 days behind on responding to posts and I really like to reply to everyone. I think it could work if you are talking about the buffing brush that they make. I use it from cream blush and really like it. I personally use a beauty blender and that's all I use for foundation, bb creams, tinted moisturizer, etc. Thanks again for taking the time to post!
