The latest release from British brand Jo Malone is called Blackberry and Bay. This is my first review of a fragrance and find fragrance reviews to be very difficult but I really liked this scent and wanted to share with you all some of my thoughts on it. Prior to purchasing this the only other one I have ever tried from them was Nectarine Blossom & Honey. That's my all time favorite summer scent so I had to try this for fall after all of the hype that this fragrance has been getting. Jo Malone describes the fragrance as,
"Inspired by childhood memories of blackberry picking. A burst of deep, tart blackberry juice, blending with the freshness of just-gathered bay and brambly woods. A scent of innocence."

The blackberry gives this a nice sweetness without being too sweet for Fall. You can definitely smell the blackberries with a hint of a grapefruit/citrus scent lingering in the background. The grapefruit helps to make it not overly sweet. I don't think that this is a Winter scent since it's pretty light. If you like wearing lighter scents all-year then you might really like this for Winter. It's a nice transition scent from Summer into Fall. Jo Malone does a great job of making fragrances that make you feel like you aren't wearing a strong perfume but yet give you a scent to enjoy. These are great for the office because they won't make your coworkers go crazy from a really strong perfume scent. I don't find that these last as long as I would like but I can put it in an atomizer in my purse and bring it with me.

This doesn't have a ton of layers and isn't overly complicated but that's just fine for me since I love the scent. Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay retails for $60 USD for 30 ml and $110 USD for 100 ml. They also sell matching body care and candles. I picked mine up at Bloomingdales 57th and Lexington store. If you are ever there please go visit Wesley. He is very helpful, down to earth, and super nice. He was nice enough to give me several samples of other fragrances to try out and wrapped the perfume so that I felt like I was giving myself a beautiful gift. Jo Malone recommends layering their scents so I'm excited to try that with the samples that I got.
